PEI Matinee Racetrack Development Project

The tentative list of dates for the Challenge Series races has been posted on the Race Dates page. There is no date as of yet for Tyne Valley and because Summerside is racing most Sundays that are open, they might be forced to sit out another year. Updates will be posted as they become available.
All horsemen will be responsible for ensuring that their entry and address is recorded at each track. Each year we have cheques for travel allowance that can’t be mailed because we can’t find an address for the owner.

The complete 2014 calendar for the Challenge Series races is still a work in progress but the first date is pretty firm for Wednesday, June 11th at Pinette, 6:30 pm. According to Raymond White, the track is in A1 condition and the top class went in 2:03 on May 7th. Pinette is going every Wednesday night with regular races and schoolers for anyone who wants a start.
A complete calendar should be available by May 17th.

The PEI Matinee Project is looking for a person to work one day a week from May – October, attending Challenge Series races at each track, enforcing matinee requirements and collecting information on starters, drivers and order of finish. Harness racing experience and a basic knowledge of racing rules is preferred but impartiality is a must.
