2018 Directors’ Meeting
The April 19th directors’ meeting was held at Kensington Racetrack. Race dates were set for 2018 and remained the same as previous years, with the exception of an extra date added for Tyne Valley, Sunday, July 15th at 2 p.m.
Wayne Pike repeated the PEIHRIA’s intention of supporting the matinee program again this year.
Kent Oakes advised the various track directors that the government had allocated a fund for rock dust in 2018, a welcome announcement.
Jay Noye said that Bill Andrew was continuing his generous support to the matinee program.
An important change was agreed upon for the Matinee Challenge Series Finals. Instead of 3 finals held at Summerside Raceway, there will be 4 final divisions, split 2/2 between Summerside and Charlottetown. Instead of 18 points winners in the finals, there will now be 16, with 2 also eligible.
