The P.E.I Department
of Agriculture, through the office of the Matinee Racetrack Development
Project, will provide transport assistance of $70 (seventy) per
horse to P.E.I. horsemen who truck 30 kilometres or more one way
to participate on these dates and $100 travel assistance for horsemen
who truck over 100 kilometres to or from Pinette or St. Peters.
Each sanctioned race in 2008 will include youth (under 18) races
with points awarded.
Horses that participate in races on these dates
will earn points towards finals at Summerside Raceway. The top eighteen
point earners (six per division) will race in the finals for a purse,
cooler and Championship trophy.
To be eligible to race in the finals, a horse must
have competed in at least 3 of the above events, at a minimum of
two different tracks. Drivers of horses in the Final must have participated
in no more than five (5) pari-mutuel starts to be eligible.

Any young drivers wishing to accumulate points towards their Drivers
Licence must call the MRDP at the number below at least three days
in advance in order to schedule the presence of an MPHRC judge at
a Challenge Series Race.
